Hazel Scott was a tap dancing British child star who made two films in the late 1930's. Her parents were entertainers who specialized in clog dancing and tap dancing and who performed and toured with a group known as "The Four Ascots" between 1904 and 1916. Her father later ran a dance studio in London where he taught Hazel and her siblings to dance.

Films Featuring Hazel Ascot
Hazel Ascot appeared in two black and white films in the late 1930's and there were plans to featuring her in a third more expensive color film to be entitled "Hazel of the Sawdust". That film was never made due to the outbreak of World War II.

The Petit Ascots
Hazel's father formed a tap dancing ensemble known as "The Petite Ascots" that included Hazel and her seven-years-older sister Marjorie Ascot.

Later Life
Hazel retired from performing after World War II. She married architect Peter Banting, they had three children, and she worked as a school teacher. She was interviewed about her film career in an episode of the 1980 television series "Movie Memories" and she was also interviewed about her career by the The Guardian and the British Film Institute.
