About Kathie Fry:
Kathie's Tap Coaches:
Kathie Fry's Southern California tap dancing instructors of the past and present have included:
"I took my first tap dancing lesson in April of 2015, not long after I retired from the University of Southern California. Once I started getting the hang of it, tap dancing became my new passion!
The only tap step I knew before I took that class was the waltz clog time step (step-shuffle-ball-change). My mother taught that step to my three sisters and me when we were very young. I remember having fun doing it all around the house.
I created the Tap Dancing Resources Web site in August of 2016 to organized my personal favorite tap dancing Web sites and share them with my friends. The site quickly evolved into a more extensive tap dancing resource. I hope dancers all over the world will find the site useful.
When Tap Dancing Resources first appeared online, my long term tap dancing goal was to be that 90 year old woman who shows up at all the international tap festivals. My short term goal was to gain enough tap dancing skill to attend my *first* tap festival."
My first-ever tap dancing festival was the third annual San Diego Tap and Jazz Festival in January of 2017. The intermediate track I signed up for was above my skill level but the faculty was very supportive, I learned a lot anyway, and I had a fantastic time!
My second-ever tap dancing festival will be the fifth annual Las Vegas Tap Festival in May of 2017.
