Information about tiles that can be used to create a temporary tap dancing floor.

Harlequin Vinyl Tap Tiles
The Harlequin dance floor company makes 3 foot square vinyl tiles suitable for tap dancing. The tiles can be attached to each other to form a larger tap floor. They are available in three colors: black, white, and gray, and each tile weighs about 10 pounds. If the tiles are placed on top of a slippery surface, double-sided tape can be used to secure the perimeter of the floor.

12 inch, vinyl surface, interlocking, modular, tap dance floor tiles that can be combined and attached to make the desired floor size. Each tile measure 12 by 12 inches, each one is 1/2 inch thick, and each weighs about 2 pounds. Tiles are sold both individually and in sets with edge pieces included. They are available in four different surface colors oak, teak, slate black, and black stone. The tiles have a vinyl (not wood) dancing surface and a polypropylene base.
