Atlantic States
The U.S. Atlantic States include all of the states, from Maine to Florida, with shorelines bordering the Pacific Ocean. Those states, from north to south, include Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

Middle Atlantic States
Includes the Northeast USA states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.

Middle West States
Rocky Mountains to Allegheny Mountains, North of Ohio River and southern border of Missouri and Kansas: Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin

New England
Includes the U.S. states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont

Pacific Northwest
Old Oregon country: Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Washington, Wyoming

Pacific States
Includes the U.S. states of Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington

Rocky Mountain Region
Includes the U.S. states of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming

North Atlantic States

Includes the U.S. states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

New Southwest
Corresponds to old Spanish province of New Mexico including Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah

Southwestern States
Includes the southern U.S. states situated west of Mississippi River. Those states are: Arkansas, Arizona, California (Southern Section), Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah.

Northeastern States
Includes U.S. states and districts east of Mississippi River and north of the Ohio River and the Potomac River. Those states and districts are: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.

Northwestern States
Northern part of US between western edge of Lake Superior and Pacific Ocean: Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming

Southern States
Includes U.S. states south of Mason-Dixon Line and the Ohio River, from the western Texas border to the Atlantic Ocean. Those states are: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia

Eastern U.S. States and Districts
Includes the 26 U.S. states situated east of the Mississippi River plus the District of Columbia. Those states and districts are: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky. Maine. Maryland. Massachusetts. Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Western U.S. States
Includes the 24 U.S. states situated west of the Mississippi River. Those states are:
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
